South Carolina, including the Upstate, has a very healthy housing market.  Those are the findings in the latest survey by SmartAsset.

Several Upstate communities even hit the top 5 in the financial tech company's 4th annual Healthiest Housing Markets study.  SmartAsset determines those healthy markets based on several factors including home values, ease of sale, homeownership costs and how long residents live in their homes.

#1 on the list is Taylors with an index of nearly 81.  While #3 on the list is Fountain Inn with an index of 77.  In both cases, people stayed in their homes for about 15 years.  Some other upstate communities ranked high in areas, like Five Forks and Simpsonville for affordability, Mauldin for low risk, and Piedmont for stability.
