The art and culture scene is one that is thriving in the Upstate. Ten at the Top is taking a deeper look into how much it helps the local economy with their latest forum, Culture Counts.

Culture Counts will be held on Wednesday, January 24 at the Chapman Culture Center from 3-5 pm.

You can also network with your peers from across the Upstate and hear a keynote presentation from Anthony Radich, Executive Director of Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF), as well as a panel of local leaders discussing the role of arts and culture in our shared community.

They will also be unveiling a major new piece of art that took almost an entire year to complete. It’s an ensemble piece that has the fingerprints and brushstrokes of many artists, writers, thinkers, leaders, left brains and right brains from across the Upstate.

You will be among the first to view the Upstate Culture Counts Assets Map. And if art is about a new way of seeing, this is certainly a masterpiece. On the map, you’ll see the power of culture: More than 1,200 arts and culture programs, studios, facilities and activities available across the 10-county Upstate region.

I spoke with Dean Hybl, the Executive Director of Ten at the Top, to find out more about the event.
