IVA, S.C. (AP) — Authorities have charged a 28-year-old man for killing a woman who was found in a pool of blood at a South Carolina home with her 2-year-old daughter safe nearby.

Arrest warrants from the State Law Enforcement Division said Adam Lawless stabbed and strangled 24-year-old Tabatha Duncan after an argument.

Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore says her body was found Monday by the father of Duncan's boyfriend, who broke into the home in Iva to check on her.

Shore said Duncan lived with her boyfriend, and public records list Lawless as the owner of the home.

Shore says Duncan may have been dead up to 12 hours before her body was found.

It wasn't known if Lawless had an attorney.
