UPDATE FROM GREENVILLE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE:

Investigators have arrested 36 year-old, Diderikcous Jacobi Hill, in connection with the homicide that occurred this morning at 214 Fountain Inn Drive. Following the initial call regarding a gunshot victim, deputies were able to make contact with Hill and an investigation into the incident ensued. During the course of investigation, investigators learned that prior to the shooting, the victim and Hill had an altercation, at which point, Hill pulled out a handgun and opened fire, striking the victim at least once, causing his fatality.

Hill has been charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime. He was transported to the Greenville County Detention Center where he is currently being held on no bond.

Simpsonville, SC --  Greenville County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a shooting on Fountain Inn Drive in Simpsonville.  Dispatchers received a call about a gunshot victim around 3AM Saturday morning.  

When deputies arrived, they could not find a victim, but evidence at the scene led them to conclude a shooting had occurred.  Deputies were able to locate a suspect a short time later.  

Around 7:15AM deputies were notified that a body had been found in a ditch off of Burdette Road near Howard Drive in Simpsonville.  The body was confirmed to be that of the victim from the Fountain Inn Drive shooting scene.  

Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans has identified the victim as James Calvin Hill, 48 of Simpsonville.  The cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds to the head.  

The homicide is being investigated by the Greenville County Sheriff's office and the Greenville County Coroner's office.
