Update: Death in Fountain Inn

Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office have confirmed the identity of the suspect in the Hartwick Lane homicide as 44 year-old, Christopher Lee Oliver.  In addition to the Failure to Stop for a Blue Light charge, investigators have obtained warrants on Oliver for Murder, two counts of Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, two counts of Carjacking (because there were two victims, sitting in the vehicle when he stole it), and Grand Larceny.



From the Greenville County Sheriff's Office:

Deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office are conducting a death investigation that occurred at 119 Hartwick Lane in Fountain Inn.  This evening, at approximately 8:30pm, deputies received a call in regards to a vehicle that was just stolen from 120 Hartwick Lane.  The vehicle was reportedly stolen by an unclothed male, covered in blood, whose identity is unknown at this time.

A witness followed the suspect and provided updated locations until deputies arrived on scene.  Deputies were able to locate the suspect vehicle, driving northbound, on I-385.  When deputies initiated a traffic stop, the suspect refused to pull over and a vehicle pursuit ensued.  Deputies were eventually able to get the vehicle to stop, and get the driver in custody, near 1 Liberty Plaza, in downtown Greenville.

During the time of the pursuit, deputies on Hartwick Lane, discovered a significant amount of blood in and around the residence at 119 and a short time later, were able to locate a deceased female inside.

At this time the unidentified suspect has is in custody on a Failure to Stop for a Blue Light charge, and the death investigation is ongoing.  Further details will be released as they develop.  Investigators request that anyone with information regarding this case, to call Crime Stoppers of Greenville at 23-CRIME.
