Restaurant Robbed in Anderson

Shortly before 1pm on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 deputies responded to an armed robbery that occurred at the Olive Garden Restaurant on Clemson Blvd. in Anderson. 

The suspect, described as a black male wearing all red and armed with a handgun, entered the restaurant and demanded money from an employee at the take out counter.  After obtaining cash, the suspect fled from the restaurant. 

The suspect was apprehended by deputies soon after the incident.  Navardo Christopher Benjamin, age 26 of Lithonia, GA is charged with armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, resisting arrest, and failure to stop for a blue light.  Benjamin remains in custody at the Anderson County Detention Center.
